# FCC bans foreign-made advanced robots over security risks

The U.S. Federal Communications Commission has added foreign-produced advanced robots, including humanoids and quadrupeds, to its Covered List of technologies deemed a national security risk. The ban applies to all foreign-made robots, regardless of origin, meaning EU manufacturers are also affected. According to the FCC, the mobility, connectivity, and data-collection capabilities of these devices could pose risks to U.S. critical infrastructure. Exemptions may be granted through a Conditional Approval process. The ban underscores the growing geopolitical tensions around advanced robotics and their global supply chains.
